THE USE OF VIDEO FEEDBACK IN TRAINING with John Bayley
COACHING TEACHERS IN CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES
This 2 day training is for leaders, mentors and coaches within schools to improve their effectiveness in supporting others. The programme provides you with a consultancy approach using video observation for individual feedback and whole staff training. You will learn a way of using video for feedback with teachers that produces these benefits -
- it gives teachers acurate feedback on their own performance
- it is based on an understanding of the particular circumstances of the school
- it relates behaviour management to teaching style
John Bayley has a national reputation in this area of consultancy through his work on Teachers TV. He will show you -
- how to work with different faculties or groups, videoing lessons
- how to give individual staff members the opportunity to review and discuss their teaching
- how to use these feedback sessions to consider teaching as a whole process in which behaviour management and teaching style are analysed together.
- how to transfer your video material on to Quicktime Movie formats that can be shared within the group for staff to compare their practice and learn from each other.
- how to take this opportunity to stimulate quality conversations about teaching and learning within departments.
- how to use the video material to form the core of a whole-school training day, and embed positive behaviour management and best teaching practice in the training.
- how to then produce a training video that can be used for staff induction or displayed around the school so that parents, students and visitors can appreciate what happens in classrooms.
This Video Feedback Workshop is run for relatively small groups of leaders and mentors (4 or 5 at a time) at our Eagle Tower centre, Cheltenham.
John can also provide this training for a group within a school. Also John will lead this activity within a school.
