Consultancy

Our extensive experience working with schools and local authorities gives us a unique insight into the management of school initiatives, whether in the areas of Teachers’ Continuing Professional Development or of Schools’ Development and Improvement Planning.

In recent years we have done long-term work with the following LEAs – Newport,South Wales; Cardiff; South Lanarkshire; West Dumbartonshire; Aberdeen City and schools including Swan Valley, Kent; Arbroath, Angus; Lambeth Academy; The Charter School, Southwark; Maidenhill School, Gloucestershire.

Our approaches help you plan out your programmes of training for students, teachers and managers alike.  We can advise you on long term goals for behaviour improvement and the means to achieve this.  We undertake observations before and after training to create a “behaviour audit” of teacher practice and pupil behaviour.  We train teams of teachers to act as leaders within the school to maintain the quality of provision.  We work with school leaders to identify targets and time lines for change.

We have now completed several longer-term projects with individual schools to help them get the positive Assertive Discipline message embedded into teacher practice. This is an approach we are now actively promoting with senior leaders in our schools. Our experiences have identified the key components of such a School Improvement Plan – which you can now read as our proposal for developing Behaviour for Learning in your school.

As former education managers ourselves, we well understand the economic, human and time pressures upon schools to bring about change.  We do not underestimate the amount of effort this may take.

Contact us to discuss you plans and let us help you convert your ideas into a professional and organisational development project.
